A West Bank teacher recently nominated for teacher of the year has gone missing.

Friends and family say 26-year-old Terrilynn Monette went to Parlay’s Bar on Harrison Avenue around 3:30 Saturday (3/2/13) morning and hasn’t been heard from since. Monette apparently told a group of friends at the bar that she was going to sleep in her car in the parking lot because she had been drinking.

A witness told NOPD detectives he saw Monette in the parking lot around 4:00 a.m. with an unknown man.

Her family is pleading with anyone for information about Monette’s whereabouts.

Monette is originally from California. Her aunt says the woman has been in Louisiana for a year and a half, fulfilling her dream of being a teacher.

She was last seen wearing a pink and yellow sweater and blue jeans. Her car is a black 2012 two-door Honda Accord with license plate number WUN 494.

Sam then told her that he didn’t care and that “ninjas can wear pink shoes too.”Sam went to preschool and got several compliments on his new shoes. Not one kid said anything negative toward him about it. However, my mom received about 20 comments on the photo from various family members saying how “wrong” it is and how “things like this will affect him socially” and, put most eloquently by my great aunt, “that shit will turn him gay.” My mom then deleted the photo and told Sam that he can wear whatever he wants to preschool, that it’s his decision. If he wants to wear pink shoes, he can wear pink shoes. Sam then explained to her that he didn’t like them because they were pink, he liked them because they were “made out of zebras” and zebras are his favorite animal :) What does it say about society when a group of adults could stand to take a lesson in humanity from a class of preschoolers? Words cannot express how happy this makes me. Omg forever reblog I love you, Sam.
